Holiday Time in New York & Las Vegas

Holiday Time in New York & Las Vegas
10th May 2005

Yes, even NoddyDog's deserve a break sometimes. I headed off for 2 weeks in America with Laz. First stop was New York, which is amazing. Obviously we did loads of sight-seeing to all the landmarks - Statue Of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park, Ground Zero etc... and shopping (finally getting myself an iPod!). I loved New York and will definitely be going back.

Next stop was Las Vegas, after almost missing our flight to the airport due to our hotel not booking our transport properly. I managed to hitch us a ride with the most sterotypical New York 'gangsta' going who, for whatever reason, took pity on two lost Brits. Luckily, we made it alive to the airport just catching our connecting flight and set of on our way to sunny Vegas.

Las Vegas is a totally different type of holiday to New York. It is a bigger, cheesier, brighter, American version of Blackpool. It was cool for the first few days but the glitz, neon lights and constant ringing of slot machines, and hotel after hotel definitely starts to wear thin. Luckily the weather was ace and the nightlife was buzzing, although I did give Celine Dion a miss. I did get lucky on the on the gambling front on the odd occassion but then I ploughed all of my winnings back in and lost it all, oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Yet again, we had trouble getting to the airport on time. This time I was totally to blame and without realising had my watch set an hour late for our whole time in Vegas, which caused us to miss the shuttle bus. Again, I managed to get us a cab (less dodgy this time) and got the flight home to the UK. I never want to eat a burger again!
